Annie Sloan Work Book Club

We hosted our first Work Book Club meeting at Total Bliss a few weeks ago!  Check out the Asian Style Colors!

Who says you have to use a paintbrush to paint with?
We got messy with our fingers as we worked with the bold, deep rich hues in the Asian Style Group.

We also talked about how to mix color and how to add Old White to any of these colors to get lighter versions of the original color.

One of our favorites was adding Old White to Arles to get a lovely softer yellow!

Everyone left SUPER excited about our next Work Book Club Meeting!

February 12th at 10 am and at 6 pm!

Multi Tasking at it's Finest

I've never met a woman who is not constantly in a state of extreme multi tasking!
I am no exception.  Sometimes I wonder how long I can keep it going!

I did enjoy 3 weeks in December of pretty much just hanging out with my family.  Seven of those days were spent in Disney!

The New Year rolled in and I'm happy to say I'm busier than ever.  Lots of custom work being done for clients!

Which means....multi tasking goes into full effect!  Like playing scrabble while you paint!

I'm also in the process of updating some desperately neglected things in our house that somehow is now 10 years old!

My shutters look like a patchwork of ick!  These are just a few of the 8 colors I have painted on them!  I've finally decided on a deep gray....Classic French Gray by Sherwin Williams custom made at 150%.

The master bath is also on the list.  Look at how lovely this looks.  This would be the thermofoil that has peeled off the cabinetry!  This stuff should be banned!!

These will be getting a makeover with Chalk Paint.  Lots more will go down in the master bath too.  You can hop over to my Pinterest Page and check out my bath remodel board for my inspirations for this room!

Lastly, I'm always on a hunt for treasures!  Trish and I stopped off at one of our spots this past weekend and found this throwback poster.  Wonder what made the owner of this decide it was time to let it go?

Of course I needed my photo with it!

So, what kind of multi tasking are you up to?

Cute, Comfortable and the "F" word

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I work in the shop (Total Bliss) painting furniture and helping customers with paint and whatever else may need attention.  I'm there for an average of 5 hours at a time that feel like 5 minutes.  I'm either on my feet or sitting on the floor painting!

So, ones outfit needs to be Comfortable, especially in the footwear department.  In the Function Department I try to avoid paints that fall down when I bend over...since I do a lot of that!  I'm sure I'd scare a few customers off with that scene! I also need to have on something that I don't care if paint gets all over because I am notorious for making a mess!  And lastly I need to have some sense of Cuteness!

I started with my favorite gray leggings that are already full of paint.  They don't fall down and are tight in that right way that I feel everything is "held in"!  I know you know what I'm talking about!  I added some cute long socks with a ruffle (hard to see in the picture).  Lastly, a girls feet have to be comfortable and I don't do cheap shoes!  I added my black Born boots.  They are insanely comfortable. I've decided they are my official work boots.  If they get paint on them I'm OK with it.  Worth it!

I also have to wear short sleeves because I get so hot working.  Then I thew on a Juicy Couture dress I found at a Consignment Shop.  It is the softest cotton ever!!

Until I warm up at work I do need a little sleeve cover so I threw on my go to gray wrap.  Ok, so I looked in the mirror and this is what I saw.....

CAN YOU SAY DEBBIE ALLEN FROM THE SHOW FAME! ?! UGH!

All I needed was some leg warmers and I'd be her!

So, I said the "F" word and walked out the door and had a super fab comfortable day!!!

I might even wear the outfit again Thursday and Friday!!

Hueology Update

Wishing you all a Happy New Year.....FINALLY!

I (MJ) wanted to say thanks for visiting the Hueology website and update you on a few things....

As some of you may know this website was started by 2 awesome friends (Trish and MJ) who fell in love with Chalk Paint and started an adventure in paint.

Well, we are still awesome friends.....but...

Trish decided a few month ago that her family needed a little more of her and made the hard decision to  step away from the paint and refocus herself on her children and their family business.

MJ has then thrown herself FULL FORCE into LOTS of painting and teaching classes and working at Total Bliss!  So much that she has totally failed at blogging any of it!

It's a new year and I want to get back on track with blogging and sharing my life.

This blog is going to take on a little different personality in doing so.  Trish was the mastermind behind the beautiful pictures and layout on this site.  I'm not as good as that as she was.

I'd like this site to be a little more personal and really connect with my readers and let you all see a little more of me, my home, crazy life and yes stuff painted in Chalk Paint....even if the pictures are not as pretty as perfect as Trish made them to be!
