It is Day 31 and I think we pretty much
fulfilled the challenge
to bring you a whole lotta Annie Sloan
during the month of October!!!
Okay, maybe we missed a day or two...but, judging from the comments it seems we have turned some new folks onto this paint! Yeah, welcome to the world of being addicted to Annie Sloan! For those of you who were already addicted, I'm glad we could be of service to feed your addiction a little bit more! There is nothing better in Blog Land than a good before and after...well sometimes just an after when you forget to take the before shot! Can I get an "Amen" from everyone who has gotten so excited to get started that they snoozed on the before shot????
We would be oh so honored if you would join us today for our first Linky Party on Hueology. Of course it is an Annie Sloan Linky Party! So, link up to a project you have completed with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint! We can't wait to see what you have done!
If you would be so kind we would appreciate it if you did give a little shout out that you are linking to the Hueology blog!
We apologize that the thumbnails are not working when you link up! The links will still work, so please link up, even if the thumbnail does not show, the title of your blog or piece will! We promise to view them all!
It is so much fun to see the various projects! ASCP can turn the ugliest duckling into a beautiful swan! Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteNo before/after pics from me yet. I just purchased my first can of ASCP and dark wax on my birthday vacation earlier this month. (The trip wasn't to purchase ASCP, but my daughters teased me the entire trip since it was my ONLY must do while we were in California. Unfortunately we don't have a stockist in Arizona.) The stockist I visited was out of clear wax. My clear wax and brush were shipped today. YAY! So I should be able to complete a few pieces in the near future.
Thank for your month of posts! I truly enjoyed it.
Hey girls,
ReplyDeleteI wrote in the wrong title, so don't worry if you don't see a wedding on my first link...sorry.
I just came home from a weekend of fabulous ASCP painting fun with the very talented Patty Seaman of Classic Wall Finishes....so much fun and I learned so much.
I am soooooo addicted to this paint!

I am a huge fan of chalk paint and have been inspired by your 31 day challenge. You certainly opened my eyes and have encouraged me! Keep up with the projects!
ReplyDeleteLove the posts! Great Party!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the only one in the world who doesn't like ASCP! I ordered some in Old White and practiced on a few small things first... I wasn't very happy with the way it went on and it took 2 and in some cases 3 coats, which kind of negated the 'no prep work' as I usually only use 1 coat of primer and 1 of paint. Anyway, moved on to a small side table to test it out on something solid and it looks like I painted it with Elmers Glue. Sticky, brush marks all over and you can easily scratch it with a nail or even a stiff bristle on a chip brush. It does sand down, but since I'm not used to having to sand a piece that much, I feel like I'm doing tons of extra work. For my second coat I added a little water so it wouldn't be so gloppy and it dissolved the first coat in some cases down to the wood as I brushed. I'm not sure how to recover this table now - looks really bad with the thick chalk paint caked in the details. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteNeverland.... Did you wax your pieces?
